Enugu Governor Sets Pace by Participating in Coal City Half Marathon

In a bid to promote fitness, talent discovery, and elevate Enugu State's sporting profile, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State took part in the 2024 Coal City Half Marathon held in the state's capital last Saturday.


 The governor's active involvement garnered cheers and commendations from residents as he joined athletes in the 21.79km race, emphasizing the importance of sports for all ages. 


Governor Mbah reiterated his administration's commitment to enhancing subsequent marathons, aiming to attract international athletes and elevate the event to a world-class standard.


 With plans for infrastructural development and investment in the sports sector, the governor envisions Enugu State becoming a prominent fixture in international athletics competitions. 


The successful event, which saw participants from over 20 states, was made possible through partnerships with organizations like Zenith Bank PLC and received accolades for promoting unity and healthy living.
