Firsty Senator Oluremi Tinubu Champions Women's Empowerment at NCWS Biennial Convention

I attended the National Council for Women's Societies (NCWS) Biennial Convention in Abuja on April 25th 2024, where I represented the First Lady of the Federation, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON at the National Centre for Women Development.

In her speech at the Biennial Convention of the National Council for Women Societies, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, expressed her delight at being the Grand Patron of the Council and commended the resilience, passion, and commitment of Nigerian women. She emphasized the vital role of women in driving progress and development in society and highlighted the efforts of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in promoting education, health, agriculture, social investment, and economic empowerment for women.

The First Lady announced upcoming and ongoing activities of the RHI, including the "Every Home a Garden" competition, the launch of the "Young Farmers’ Club" in public schools, and the #One Nigeria/unity fabric competition. She also shared her recent appointment as a Global and National Stop TB Champion and called for support from the private sector, development partners, and individuals to invest in women.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON encouraged women to continue promoting peace, unity, love, and prosperity, and to support and help one another. She expressed appreciation to the First Ladies of the various States and all awardees for their support towards gender advancement. The First Lady concluded by urging everyone to commit to supporting and uplifting each other, emphasizing the positive impact of women coming together to support one another. #RenewedHope #chiomauzodimma
