AY Makun Reveals Personal Turmoil Following Support for Peter Obi

Popular Nigerian comedian AY Makun has recently opened up about the series of challenges he faced after publicly endorsing Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP). Speaking on his AY Live program, Makun expressed no regrets about his endorsement but acknowledged that it came with unexpected consequences.

The comedian disclosed that shortly after declaring his support for Obi's presidential bid, his life took a downward turn. Makun revealed that he lost his house to a devastating fire outbreak, which occurred following the elections. This tragic event marked the beginning of a tumultuous period in his life.

In addition to the loss of his property, Makun recounted facing conflicts with prominent figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry. He mentioned engaging in a heated argument with popular musician Davido and Afrobeat artist Seun Kuti, further complicating his already troubled circumstances.

Moreover, Makun admitted that his marriage was on the brink of collapse during this challenging period. The comedian hinted at the strain his public stance had placed on his personal relationships, including his  bond.
