Ohanaeze Ndigbo President Urges Nigerian Youths to Avoid Violence Amid Nnamdi Kanu's Detention

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has issued a heartfelt appeal to Nigerian youths, urging them to refrain from resorting to violence and destruction of properties amidst the ongoing detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The plea comes in the wake of the Federal High Court in Abuja's decision to deny bail to Kanu on Tuesday, March 19.

Expressing deep concern over the prolonged detention of Kanu, Chief Iwuanyanwu highlighted the widespread anticipation among millions of Nigerians, both within the country and abroad, for his release. Emphasizing the need for patience, he implored the youth to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could jeopardize lives and properties.

Chief Iwuanyanwu underscored Kanu's consistent stance against violence and arson, reiterating the latter's commitment to peaceful advocacy. Despite Kanu's assurances, the continued incarceration raises questions among concerned citizens and leaders globally.

Notably, Chief Iwuanyanwu urged Nigerians to place their trust in divine intervention, expressing optimism that Kanu will soon regain his freedom. He echoed sentiments from millions of Nigerians, as well as leaders from Europe, the United States, and the United Kingdom, who question the disparity in treatment between Kanu and other individuals accused of similar offenses.
